Events:

Sept. 26 - Mon. - 7:00 p.m. Jonas 008: Rephotography Presentation
Come and enjoy a guest lecture by Dr. Robert Campbell, associate professor of history and geography, on the subject of rephotography.

Rephotography is the practice of returning to sites, usually in the landscape, using historic photographs as a guide in order to record a modern version of the image. The primary purpose of re-photographing is to demonstrate the change, which occurs in a particular environment, or landscape over time. The then and now comparison in Dr Campbell’s images is both interesting and historically significant.

Dr. Campbell states, “The scholarly reason for doing this is to understand the natural and cultural changes that happened between the two photos. But the real, motivating reason for doing this is that it is fun, and even oddly addictive”.

Sept 28 - Wed - 7p.m. - Jonas 008: Sam Abell Video Presentation
The BHSU photography club, Shutterbuzz, will be viewing the previously recorded presentation from National Geographic and Canon Explorer of Light photographer, Sam Abell.
