Points of Pride from the English Program

In the past two years, four English majors – Randi Anderson, Leonard Crosby, Theresa Law, and Gwyn Writer – have been published in the Proceedings for the National Conference for Undergraduate Research (NCUR).  Although a number of BHSU students have presented at this conference, only English majors have earned this particular distinction.

Dr. David Cremean hosted the Western Literature Association Conference at BHSU in 2009.

Writer-in-Residence Kent Meyers published his fifth book, Twisted Tree, in 2009 with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.  The collection of interconnected short stories uses the same setting as his award-winning novel The Work of Wolves.

Dr. Andrey Reznikov's book Old Wine in New Bottles: Modern Russian Anti-Proverbs was published by the University of Vermont Press in 2009.

Kent Meyers and Christine Shearer-Cremean recently developed a new writing minor, which will allow students to personalize their experiences at BHSU even more.

English professor Dr. Amy Fuqua directs the BHSU Honors Program.  The Program offers qualified students the opportunity to enrich their college experience through challenging coursework and enhanced interaction with faculty.
