The Stewart Bellman Awards for Excellence in Undergraduate Writing recognize the best writing produced in BHSU courses during the last year.  An additional award will recognize excellence in creative writing. Please see submission requirements below.

Winners will be announced by April 2, 2012.  Cash prizes are awarded for selected texts, and the winners are honored at a ceremony and reception on April 24, 2012, in the Jacket Legacy Room.

Bellman Awards Deadline: March 2, 2012

• Essays submitted must have been written for a BHSU course between March 15, 2011 and March 1, 2012.
• All academic essays, papers, and reports are eligible for competition.
• Uploaded essays must include a title, but all other identifying information (names, courses, running headers) must be removed.

Huse Award for Creative Writing Deadline: March 2, 2012

• All fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction pieces are eligible for competition.
• Uploaded texts must include a title, but all other identifying information (names, email, headers) must be removed.
• Students are also encouraged to submit their work to the Green Bowl Review, BHSU's student literary journal.

Students may submit no more than two essays and two creative pieces to the competition.
