New First-Year Students
First-year students are selected through a special application process. General guidelines for acceptance include an ACT score of at least 25 (or equivalent SAT) and a high school GPA of at least 3.5. Other considerations are evidence of a commitment to achievement beyond grades, lifelong learning experiences, and service.

Continuing/Transfer Students
Requirements are as follows:

GPA of 3.3
One sample essay:
An essay of at least three pages written for any college course. Submit this via Email to the Honor's program director, Amy Fuqua.
One letter of recommendation:
From a faculty member who is familiar with your academic work. This letter should be submitted separately by the faculty member. Electronic submission is acceptable.

In addition to completing the above, you must provide one fully developed paragraph in which you explain what makes you a good candidate for the Honors Program. We are interested in both your academic work and serious, extracurricular activities. Some topics to consider are community and school service, athletics, journalism, music, and the arts. Feel free also to include any personal experiences that you believe have helped you develop your own, positive perspective on learning.
