Project SECOND is designed for students with an undergraduate degree who live in rural areas without easy access to a college campus or with full-time work commitments. This online masters program is designed to provide the coursework and field experience for teacher certification at the secondary level (i.e, Grades 7-12). We prepare students who would like to teach in their local school district or move to a high-needs area and will, therefore, have a high probability of being hired when they complete the certification requirements.
Candidates should discuss the opportunity to student teach with the local school principal before considering Project SECOND, however, the final student teaching placement will be arranged by the Director of Field Experiences at BHSU.
