Academic Suspension Information
BHSU students must maintain a 2.0 grade point average to remain in good standing. Students not achieving this minimum standard after two semesters are suspended and must submit a petition to be considered for readmission. Learn more about Academic Suspension.
Students can drop or withdraw from a class using WebAdvisor LINK if it is past census day a student will need to submit a petition to withdraw. Learn more.
General Education Requirements
Every student who graduates from BHSU must complete the general education requirements. Incoming freshman must complete 30 credit hours of general education credits within their first 64 credits. Learn more about General Education Requirements. View the General Education Course Listing.

Proficiency Exam CAAP
To be eligible for graduation from any South Dakota Regental institution, students must pass a proficiency exam that tests knowledge in four areas: reading, writing, science, and math. This test is timed and must be taken during the designated CAAP testing days each fall and spring. Learn more about the Proficiency Exam CAAP.
Starfish is a student success system that allows BHSU to connect students with the tools and resources that they might need in order to be successful.
