Each year, New Faculty Orientation is provided by the Center for Faculty Innovation, which coordinates with College Deans, Chairs, and the BHSU Academic Affairs office to introduce new faculty to our institution. New Faculty attend orientation events in the week before fall semester, including a training session on key web systems for teaching and work. The Center for Faculty Innovation also hosts monthly new-faculty meetings throughout the academic year. In these new-faculty sessions, colleagues from across the University join new faculty to talk about teaching, research, and the many offices on campus that support faculty work. If you are a new faculty member and have not yet received an invitation to these events, please contact your Chair.

New Faculty are also encouraged to consult the Faculty Handbook, which can be found on the Policies and Procedures Page. Updated regularly, the Faculty Handbook provides an overview of university systems, describes resources that are relevant for faculty, and outlines administrative processes that govern faculty work.

To supplement the handbook, academic affairs has collected a few useful resources related to teaching, research, faculty promotion, and more. Find those resources below.
