Westcore is the DNA core facility for Western South Dakota. It is located on the campus of Black Hills State University in beautiful Spearfish, South Dakota.
The core facility has been in operation since 2003, and is associated with the Center for the Conservation of Biological Resources.
The Westcore facility was established to provide DNA services to the public and other institutions and organizations.
The services provided by Westcore reflect the needs of the surrounding community and our economic resources in South Dakota.
Westcore is a fully staffed laboratory with automated DNA instrumentation, and has a federally approved quality management plan.
