Information and Instructional Technology Services (IITS) employs several students in many capacities that range from techs who work for the Network and Computing Services department to Student Technology Fellows who assist faculty with Desire2Learn and website accounts.

  Network & Computing Services Student staff are hired to according to ability for the following positions: Computer Technician Trainee, Computer Technician, and Senior Computer Technician. Some of their duties include: installing, relocating, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on computers and associated equipment as well as installing, configuring, testing, upgrading, and troubleshooting network client software and hardware.

  Digital Media Resource Services Student staff are responsible for duties ranging from converting analog audio and video tapes to digital audio and video files to encodes digital video for storage on the campus video streaming server. These students work with faculty and staff.

  STFs are part of a program designed to provide opportunities for South Dakota students and faculty to partner in the development and integration of modern technology tools into instruction. They provide faculty assistance with the development and use of discipline specific technology needs.
