Black Hills State University will host a Fall Career and Volunteer Fair Wednesday, Nov. 10 from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. in the Donald E. Young Center Field House.

The Dakota Chamber Orchestra will present their fall concert Sunday, Nov. 14 at 2:30 p.m. in the Meier Recital Hall on the campus of Black Hills State University. The Dakota Chamber Orchestra is a chamber orchestra consisting of BHSU students and string players from the community and surrounding areas.
Nearly 10 Black Hills State University student organizations participated and sponsored activities at the Children’s Carnival that was recently held at the Spearfish Recreation Center.
The Black Hills State University Honors Program has grown significantly since it was established on campus in 2003. From fall 2003 to fall 2010 the program, which offers highly motivated students a challenging and enriching education, has grown 125 percent.
As part of its continuing sustainability efforts, Black Hills State University instituted a new community garden program this past growing season. The BHSU garden produced vegetables that were used in the campus dining facility.
All student produced media at Black Hills State University have recently been converged into a single site, www.BHSUBuzz.com. The site includes the Jacket Journal, the student newspaper; KBHU-FM, the student radio station; and KBHU-TV, the student television station.
Three Black Hills State University students and their advisor, Dr. Mary Caton-Rosser, assistant professor of mass communication, recently presented at the Midwest Consortium for Service-Learning in Higher Education Conference in Crete, Neb.
Kim Nida, assistant director of financial aid and Veteran’s Affairs certifying official at Black Hills State University, and her daughters, Claire, 4, and Reese, 2, are among the many BHSU community members who don their green and gold BHSU apparel every Friday to support the “Jeans for Jackets” scholarship fundraising program.

A fundraiser featuring Hank Harris and the Hegg Brother to benefit the Black Hills State University Visual Arts Department and the Spearfish Arts Center (SAC) will be held Friday, November 19 at the Matthew’s Opera House in Spearfish.
