Gov. Dennis Daugaard was just one of many dignitaries present at the recent ribbon cutting for the University Center- Rapid City (UCRC) Veterans Resource Center. The Veterans Resources Center began as a vision of a couple of student veterans who saw a need, and UCRC administrators who found space to fulfill that need.
The John T. Vucurevich Foundation recently approved $2,500 in grants to fund scholarships for Black Hills State University summer academic camps.
The scholarships will be offered for the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) camps which include: the Science Scholars Summer Institute, the Engineering Technology Camp – 3D Drafting: Designing a Home, and Taking Care of Business Accounting Style.
When Steve Babbitt walked into his classroom Wednesday and saw Black Hills State University President Dr. Kay Schallenkamp and Dr. Rod Custer, provost and vice president of Academic Affairs, many things began running through his mind.
The BHSU President and Provost were there to present Babbitt with this year’s Distinguished Faculty Award – an honor bestowed upon Babbitt by his colleagues.
Around 70 Black Hills State University students, staff, faculty and community members attended Erlich’s talk last night. BHSU was a stop on Erlich’s national speaking tour looking his perspective of the war in Iraq.
