The Black Hills State University men’s Rodeo Team won the recent Jackrabbit Stampede in Brookings with 1355 points. The BHSU women’s team finished in third place at the event with 345 points.

The Painter siblings from the Black Hills State University rodeo team won all-around titles in Iowa rodeos this past weekend. The first rodeo was held at Iowa Central Community College in Dayton, followed by the Iowa State University Cyclone Stampede in Ames.

The Cowboys and Candle Light Dinner and Auction, held in conjunction with the Will Lantis Yellow Jacket Stampede Rodeo, had an attendance of over 300 and raised $13,000.

The Black Hills State University Rodeo Club will host the second annual Will Lantis Yellow Jacket Stampede Rodeo Friday, April 24 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 25 at 1 p.m. The Cowboys and Candlelight Dinner and Auction will be held Saturday evening at 6 p.m. at the Spearfish Holiday Inn.

The Black Hills State University rodeo team put on an extraordinary performance at the Jackrabbit Stampede in Brookings April 3-5, where South Dakota State University hosted two rodeos. The Yellow Jackets brought home both the men’s and women’s combined team champion trophies from the weekend.
