Five Black Hills State University students presented virtually at the Ninth Biannual International Collaborative Research (ICR) Symposium.
Black Hills State University will recognize 198 candidates during the University’s 162nd commencement ceremony Saturday, Dec. 17 at 10 a.m. in the Donald E. Young Sports and Fitness Center.
The BHSU Library will extend its hours during finals week. Beginning Sunday, Dec. 11 through Wednesday, Dec. 14, the library will stay open until 1 a.m., and Thursday, Dec. 15 the library will stay open until 11p.m. Snacks will be provided from BHSU faculty and staff. Black Hills State University student Chris Yushta is currently displaying his photography at Roma’s Ristorante in Spearfish. An artist’s reception will be held Dec. 13 from 5-7 p.m., Yushta will be available to answer questions about his exhibit.

Educational kits created by Black Hills State University students will be showcased at an open house Saturday, Dec. 3 from 2-4 p.m. at the High Plains Western Heritage Center. The kits were created in the South Dakota Indian Studies and Human Relations classes at BHSU.
Black Hills State University is sponsoring the 11th Annual Red Shirt Cultural Holiday Exchange, which includes a collection of toys and funds along with at visit by BHSU students to the Red Shirt School. The event, which began as two-student project in 2000, has grown into a campus-wide event with participation numerous organizations.
Chris McCart, assistant professor and coordinator of the outdoor education program at Black Hills State University, was awarded the “Young Scholar” award by the Association for Moral Education. The scholarship assists in expenses to travel and present at the 2011 Association for Moral Education International Research Conference in Nanjing, China.
