Black Hills State University will host a premier one-day leadership simulcast Friday, May 8 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. in Clare and Josef Meier Recital Hall on the BHSU campus. The Black Hills State University Rodeo Team will host the second annual Will Lantis Yellow Jacket Stampede Rodeo Friday, April 24 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 25 at 1 p.m. The Cowboys and Candlelight dinner and auction will be held Saturday evening at the Holiday Inn in Spearfish.
Kent Meyers, associate professor of English at Black Hills State University, will visit three different writing classes at Loyola College in Baltimore, Md. at the end of the month. He will discuss fiction and non-fiction writing, and contemporary literature.
Dr. Lee Pearce, associate professor of education at Black Hills State University, will present his research on the predictors of early reading skills in American Indian youth at the American Educational Research Association in San Diego, Calif.

The Black Hills State women’s team placed first for the fourth consecutive season at the Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) championship on February 22, 2009. The men’s team placed second for the third consecutive year.
