Black Hills State University is hosting the 19th Annual Gold Dust Yellow Jacket Golf Tournament Saturday, June 27 at the Spearfish Canyon Country Club in Spearfish. Proceeds from the golf tournament will be used for scholarships for student-athletes at Black Hills State University.

Black Hills State University will offer a building inspection course during the fall 2009 semester. The course will be offered using the state’s interactive television network, the Dakota Digital Network (DDN), and will be available at DDN sites throughout South Dakota.

The academic affairs office at Black Hills State University has released the dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester. A total of 540 students were named to the dean’s list. Students must maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or above while taking at least 12 credit hours to be named to the dean’s list. Students are listed by hometown or current place of residence.

Travis CoveyTravis Covey has been named head coach of the track and field program at BHSU. Covey, who served as assistant track and field coach this year, takes over for Scott Walkinshaw who recently stepped down as head coach of track and field but will continue to serve as head coach of the cross country program.
