Young Sports and Fitness Center earlier this month. First Western Bank was one of several sponsors that provided a special welcome for each of the basketball teams.

This year the symposium featured 17 students who presented poster sessions and 13 students who offered oral presentations. Dr. Ben Perryman, director of Sanford Research/University of South Dakota was the keynote speaker.

The Black Hills State University Concert Choir will put on a variety show, “Yellow Jacket Antics” Thursday, March 29 at 7:30 p.m. in the Clare and Josef Meier Recital Hall on the BHSU campus.

The Community-University-Resource-Exchange (C-U-R-E) office and the Global Awareness Committee are proud to present Diversity Week 2007, which will take place March 26-30. The theme for this year’s celebration is “From Words to Action: Collaborating for Change.”

The South Dakota Stock Market Game (SDSMG), sponsored in part by Black Hills State University, gained 160 teams this spring, bringing the total number of participating teams to 400, a near 70 percent increase from last year’s spring session.

The Residence Hall Association will host its fifth annual semiformal dinner dance Saturday, March 24 in the Student Union Jacket Legacy Room. The evening will include dinner, dancing and excitement.

The annual District 6 National History Day Competition will once again be held on the Black Hills State University campus. The competition, which is open to area students in grades six through twelve, will begin Thursday, March 22 at 1 p.m. This year’s theme is “Triumph & Tragedy in History.”

The 9th Annual Black Hills Research Symposium will be held in the Jacket Legacy Room of the David B. Miller Yellow Jacket Student Union on the Black Hills State University campus March 13-15. The symposium includes student research presentations as well as a keynote address by Dr. Ben Perryman, assistant director for the Cardiovascular Institute at the University of South Dakota.
