The South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity (SD CEO at Black Hills State University), in collaboration with Regional Health, will present “Sweet Dreams for Losing Weight – Weight and Sleep” as the topic of the Healthy Bodies/Healthy Business seminar in Spearfish Tuesday, May 22. The session will be repeated in Rapid City Thursday, May 24.
Black Hills State University (BHSU) is one of several sponsors to with the Regional Technical Education Center (RTEC) to present the annual two-week Manufacturing Academy in Yankton designed to help high school students advance their welding and machining skills, as well as introduce them to career opportunities in the manufacturing field.
The South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity (SD CEO) at Black Hills State University will host the third annual “Celebrating Women in Business Luncheon” at the Spearfish Holiday Inn May 17. For the first time, state-wide awards will be presented in four categories to exemplary women in business.
Black Hills State University sophomore Lindee Lawrence, biology major from Spearfish, is the recipient of the 2012 Kevin Whirlwind Horse Memorial Scholarship. Each year during the Kevin Whirlwind Horse Memorial Run/Walk, a $500 scholarship is presented to an American Indian sophomore who demonstrates outstanding academic ability and leadership skills. The overall winners for this year’s race were Wes Broeder, Spearfish, and Marci Holben, Spearfish, in the 5K run; and Philip Schwartz, Spearfish, and Keena Byrd-Moro, Spearfish, in the 10K run.
Black Hills State University photography students will display five photography exhibits throughout campus now through May 18. A reception will be held April 24 from 4-6 p.m. in both Jonas and Pangburn Halls to honor the photography students for their achievements.
The South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity (SD CEO) at Black Hills State University will host a business seminar on ways to explore new job opportunities using hands-on experience with the leading professional business-to-business online networking platform, LinkedIn. “LinkedIn for job seekers—strategies for success,” will be offered both in Spearfish and Rapid City.
The South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity (SD CEO) at Black Hills State University, in collaboration with Regional Health, will feature avid runner and dean of the College of Business and Natural Sciences at BHSU, Dr. Priscilla Romkema, as part of the Healthy Bodies/Healthy Business seminars. She will present “Balancing Act – How to Balance Work, Life, and Health,” in both Spearfish and Rapid City.
Black Hills State University will host the annual Hunger Banquet Thursday, April 19 at 4 p.m. in the David B. Miller Student Union Jacket Legacy Room.
