Graduates from the Class of 1960 gathered at the 2010 Black Hills State University graduation ceremony and were inducted into the 50-Year Club during a banquet hosted by the BHSU Alumni Association. All BHSU alumni who graduated 50 years ago or more are invited to attend.

Three Black Hills State University students have been accepted to the Johanna Meier Opera Theatre Institute for this summer. The institute is part of the Black Hills Summer Institute of Arts and will be held on the BHSU campus June 13-26.

Twenty-nine middle and high school jazz bands and choirs from four states recently competed at the Black Hills Jazz Festival held on the Black Hills State University campus. The festival featured talented young musicians from around the area the junior high and high school level.
