Black Hills State University will begin the community lecture and lunch series Thursday, Oct. 21, at 11:30 in the Jacket Legacy Room of the David B. Miller Yellow Jacket Student Union. Dr. David Siemens, associate professor of biology, will be speaking on “House Hunting Botany Style: What limits the evolution of local range in plants.”

NCUR Proceedings is a prestigious national journal which features the scholarship of students who have presented papers at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research.

Dr. Dorothy Fuller, associate professor of education at BHSU, was among the Teacher Education Editorial Board which received the Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching (MERLOT) Cup Award this year. The House Cup is awarded to the Editorial Board that makes the highest level of contributions in an academic year.

A reception was held at Black Hills State University before commencement for the graduates in the BHSU Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction (MSCI) program. The reception gave students who have taken online courses the opportunity to meet each other and their faculty in person.
