BHSU will present a juried student award art show, “Happiness Camp,” in the Ruddell Art Gallery through May 13. A closing reception will be held May 3 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. BHSU art students entered a total of 80 pieces in the contest, from which 40 were chosen to be included in the show.

She began her tenure as state director and member of the board of directors at the annual MSS conference in Chicago.

Conducting duties will be shared by Christopher Hahn, BHSU music instructor and director of the groups, and four students from the advanced conducting class.

The Black Hills State University Center for American Indian Studies (CAIS) has been awarded a South Dakota Humanities Council Grant for $3,250 to fund a symposium titled “The RED, in the Red, White and Blue: Indians in the Armed Forces.” The symposium will be held in conjunction with the university’s annual Indian Awareness Week, April 16-22.
