Black Hills State University will host the 10th Anniversary Gala: Celebration of the Arts in the Clare and Josef Meier Recital Hall Saturday, June 14 at 7:30 p.m.  The gala is a delightful assortment of short selections from areas of the arts including: music, dance, and literature.

The Black Hills State Players will present a children’s theatre performance of Assignment: Earth, What Kids Can Do To Save the Planet. The show, which will be performed by a group of children from the Spearfish community, will premiere in the Woodburn Hall Theatre Friday, June 13 at 2 p.m. Additional performances will be held Saturday, June 14 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 15 at 2:30 p.m.

Construction and renovation of 11 science facilities and laboratories on all six public university campuses is ready to move forward after July 1, the South Dakota Board of Regents was told today. Building committees have been set up, and campuses are selecting architects for their projects.

Sen. John Thune will address approximately 375 graduates during the 155th commencement ceremony at Black Hills State University Saturday, May 10 at 10 a.m. in the Donald E. Young Sports and Fitness Center gymnasium. Randall Morris, South Dakota Board of Regents member, and Hugh Palmer, BHSU Alumni Association president, will also speak during the ceremony.

Black Hills State University faculty member Dr. Andrey Reznikov, associate professor in the department of humanities, recently attended and presented research at the 18th annual Society for the Interdisciplinary Study of Social Imagery (SISSI) conference March 13-15 in Colorado Springs, Colo.  The conference’s theme was “The Image of the Outsider in Literature, Media, and Society.”
