Black Hills State University will host a Volleyball Reunion Saturday, Sept. 19, in conjunction with Swarm Day festivities.
Urla Marcus has been named director of the Center for American Indian Studies at Black Hills State University. Marcus has served as associate director of the center since 2006.
Marcus, says she is plans to continue to advance the work of the Center in her new role as the director.

Black Hills State University recently received a gift of $37,919 from former educator, Edith Gutsche Anderson.
A lifelong interest in education motivated Anderson to leave this gift to the BHSU Foundation for scholarships. The funds will assist students from Butte and Meade counties with educational costs.

Black Hills State University is hosting the 19th Annual Gold Dust Yellow Jacket Golf Tournament Saturday, June 27 at the Spearfish Canyon Country Club in Spearfish. Proceeds from the golf tournament will be used for scholarships for student-athletes at Black Hills State University.
The Williams and Ree “one-stop reunion tour” at Black Hills State University last week raised more than $7,000 for the Ruth and Sever Eubank scholarship program.
Williams and Ree, who have been performing their unique comedy and music shows for more than 40 years, will present a “reunion” show on the Black Hills State University campus along with several of the original band members: Dennis Van Vactor, Jerry Burton, and Jim Roberts.
Black Hills State University alums, Dennis Van Vactor and Williams and Ree, will perform with special guests Jerry Burton and Jim Roberts Tuesday, June 9 at 7:15 p.m. in the Clare and Josef Meier Recital Hall. Proceeds from this special concert will support the Sever and Ruth Eubank Scholarship program at BHSU.
More than 350 Black Hills State University graduates will be honored in the 157th commencement ceremony this Saturday, May 9 at 10 a.m. in the Donald E. Young Sports and Fitness Center.
