Black Hills State University photography students will be displaying recent work from their Contemporary Issues Photography Class in the Photographers Gallery in lower level of Jonas Hall located on the BHSU campus. The public is invited to join the photographers for opening reception on Dec. 9 from 4 - 6 p.m.
Black Hills State University student organizations Buzz Marketing and Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) have combined efforts for a service project to collect food for the Spearfish Food Bank.

Black Hills State University is a founding member of a new debate organization which started this semester, the Black Hills Collegiate Debate Union. This group is comprised of students from BHSU, South Dakota School of Mines & Technology, and National American University. The organization hopes to add students from Western Dakota Tech and Oglala Lakota College in the near future. The group will be holding its second official union debate on the BHSU campus Tuesday, Nov. 16 in the Jacket Legacy Room at 6 p.m.
Black Hills State University forensics team had a successful season of intercollegiate tournament competition.
The Black Hills State University 10% Society will host It Gets Better Tuesday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. in Club Buzz of the David B. Miller Yellow Jacket Student Union on the BHSU campus. The event is an educational presentation on suicide prevention and lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) bullying and discrimination.

The Black Hills State University Honors Program has grown significantly since it was established on campus in 2003. From fall 2003 to fall 2010 the program, which offers highly motivated students a challenging and enriching education, has grown 125 percent.
