Black Hills State University tourism students spent the semester researching and analyzing how to make Belle Fourche a must-see Black Hills attraction. The students presented their five-year sustainable tourism plan earlier this month to Rita Pazour, marketing/communications specialist for the Belle Fourche Chamber of Commerce.
Black Hills State University student Aaron Morlock, his wife Sara, also a BHSU student, and their four-year-old daughter Arabella lost everything in a house fire during October’s Winter Storm Atlas. In the last few months, Aaron, Sara, and Arabella, with the help of several communities and BHSU, have been putting their life back together while remaining dedicated to their studies.
Science writing, though many times an arduous task, is a key component in introducing the public to new discoveries and the people behind these discoveries; translating the latest results from academic language into words that mean something to the outsider; and putting research into the context of everyday life. There are fascinating stories behind science, and people like recent Black Hills State University graduate Christopher Day are here to tell them.
