ahmad_ahrar.jpgDr. Ahrar Ahmad, political science professor at Black Hills State University, recently received one of the most prestigious academic awards - a Fulbright Scholarship. Ahmad received the senior teaching and research fellowship for the 2007-08 school year. While on sabbatical from BHSU next year, he will teach upper division courses in political science at the International University in Bangladesh, one of the oldest private universities in that country.

godspell_logo_thumb.jpg This July BHSU will open the doors on the premiere season of its summer theatre program at the Historic Homestake Opera House in Lead. During this first season, the troupe, known as the Black Hills State Players, will present the family-friendly musical “Godspell.” Performances will be held every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from Friday, July 13 through Sunday, Aug. 12.

stoltenberg_scott.jpgDr. Scott Stoltenberg, assistant professor of psychology at Black Hills State University, will present a poster at the 19th annual convention of the Association for Psychological Science in Washington, D.C., May 25. The poster reports the findings of a recent study comparing the results of a computer simulation of the function of the serotonin neurotransmitter system with data that Stoltenberg’s research team collected regarding impulsivity and neurotransmitter genotypes.

The Career Service Act (CSA) Advisory Council at Black Hills State University recently held the 22nd annual recognition luncheon to honor CSA employees for their years of service at BHSU. The CSA outstanding employees for the fall and spring semesters were also honored, and the annual CSA scholarship recipient was announced.
