On Monday, May 19, Michael Baum and Karri Dieken, Black Hills State University graduates and adjunct art instructors, will begin a five-day, 442-mile bike ride from Spearfish to Brookings while creating a series of seismic drawings, a photographic journal and a video documentary.

Black Hills State University’s efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and become a “green” campus is being recognized nationally. The University’s dining services was recently notified that The Hive, the campus dining facility, and The Buzz Shack, a coffee and snack shop, have both been designated as 2 Star Certified Green Restaurants by the Green Restaurant Association (GRA.)
