BHSU spring choral concert to be held April 27

Black Hills State University will host the 2008 Spring Choral Concert April 27 at 2:30 p.m. in the Clare and Josef Meier Recital Hall.  The Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and Community Choir groups will perform under the direction of Dr. Jonathon Nero, BHSU assistant music professor.

The Concert Choir will perform works by Ludovico da Viadana, G. P. da Palestrina, Mendelssohn, and Josef Rheinberger.  The BHSU Chamber Singers will cover a broad range of songs, including works from Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Fugue in C Minor” to “And So It Goes” by Billy Joel and “MLK” by U2.

Musicians from both BHSU and the community form the Community Chorale, which will perform several works.  These include “Frostiana: Seven Country Songs,” a composition that combines seven Robert Frost poems with music written by Randall Thompson.
