BHSU professor participates in national Praxis committee

Hess
Dr. Carol Hess, Black Hills State University professor of education, recently participated in a committee for The Praxis Series assessments to help develop the Praxis Principles of Learning and Teaching Exam.

Committee members were chosen because of their previous excellence in teaching and scholarship.  The Praxis Principles of Learning and Teaching Exam required the members to develop a fair, valid, and reliable standardized test to administer to future students.

Hess received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education and master’s degree in counseling psychology from Northern State University, and her doctorate in curriculum and instruction from University of South Dakota.  She has been a member of the BHSU faculty since 1993.
