Mule Deer, whose unique comedy and music have set him apart as one-of-a-kind, started performing while he was a student at BHSU, and has performed on every major concert stage in the country. He has made over 350 television appearances, including many on The Tonight Show and The Late Show with David Letterman. He was one of six comedians, along with Jay Leno, to star on the very first HBO Comedy Special, was the co-host of Don Kirschner’s Rock Concert for four years on NBC, and a regular on Make Me Laugh.

He had over 100 appearances on the Nashville Network alone, including guest-hosting Nashville Now and two years as a cast member of Hee Haw.  He is currently featured on the DVDs  “Jeff Foxworthy’s Comedy Classics” and “The World’s Greatest Stand-up Comedy Collection” hosted by Norm Crosby.  Mule Deer’s latest appearance on The Late Show was Tuesday, Feb. 5th.

Mule Deer entertains regularly in Las Vegas, Reno, Lake Tahoe and Atlantic City, and for the past 15 years he has been touring in concert as special guest with Johnny Mathis in major venues across the country. They’ve appeared everywhere from the Hollywood Bowl to Royal Albert Hall in London. He also performs often on the Grand Ole Opry. During his career Mule Deer has shared the stage with everyone from Ray Charles and Frank Sinatra to Willie Nelson, Vince Gill, and Brooks & Dunn.

An avid golfer, Mule Deer played in this year’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Tournament, and entertained at the gala celebrity show along with Michael Bolton, Kenny G and Ray Romano.

Bob Goen of Entertainment Tonight said of Mule Deer, “This guy has got to be the funniest man on the planet.” An equally great singer and musician, Gary has a music CD, “Six Days on the Road,” with his Duck and Cover Band, comprised of some of Nashville’s greatest, including Steve Wariner and Dan Tyminski of Alison Krauss and Union Station. He also has a comedy and music CD, “Gary Mule Deer Live.”

Mule Deer is currently one of the most-played comedians on the Clean Comedy Channels of both Sirius and XM Satellite Radio.

Will Ferrell was asked by Dan Patrick at ESPN Magazine….“It’s the seventh game, ninth inning of the World Series of Comedy. You have to pick a comedian to be out on the mound.” Will’s answer was Gary Mule Deer.

After the comedic performance at BHSU, Mule Deer will be available for autographs and the sale of his CDs.
