BHSU to host guest writer Brian Bedard

Dr. Brian Bedard will visit Black Hills State University as a guest writer Thursday, Nov. 29 in Jonas Hall, room 305 at 7 p.m.  Bedard will talk about the Great Plains and its literature, read from his own work, and answer questions.

Bedard is a writer and editor of The South Dakota Review.  He has taught at BHSU in the past and is currently the director of creative writing at University of South Dakota.  Many of his stories have been published in a wide variety of literary forums.  Bedard’s two collections of short stories have been nominated for several awards, including the 2007 National Book Award for Grieving on the Run
