Three BHSU faculty members honored for excellence in education

Black Hills State University will host a reception next week to honor three of its faculty members who recently received state and national awards for their teaching excellence. The reception will be Thursday, Nov. 15 at 3 p.m. in the David B. Miller Yellow Jacket Student Union Jacket Legacy Room.

Honorees include Dr. Betsy Silva, associate physical education professor, who received the South Dakota College Physical Educator of the Year Award; Dr. Tom Termes, assistant professor and chair of the Department of Technology, who received the South Dakota Association for Career and Technical Education (SDACTE) Educator of the Year Award; and Dr. Ahrar Ahmad, political science professor, who will receive a national teaching award that will be announced at the reception.
