Two BHSU faculty complete doctorate programs

 
Dr. Liz Diers, assistant professor of accounting at BHSU, left, and Dr. Chris McCart, assistant professor of outdoor education at BHSU, recently completed their doctorate degrees Diers and McCart were recognized during a faculty welcome week session last week.   

Two Black Hills State University professors were recently honored for completing their doctorate degrees.

Dr. Chris McCart, assistant professor of outdoor education at BHSU, completed her doctorate degree in education with an emphasis in experimental outdoor education in May at the University of New Hampshire. McCart’s dissertation was “Exploring Outdoor Ethics Through the Lens of the Four Component Model: A Mixed Methods Study.”  

Dr. Liz Diers, assistant professor of accounting at BHSU, earned her doctorate degree in higher education with an emphasis in accounting from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, N.D. Diers’ dissertation title was “A Ten-Year Study of Earned Income Tax Credit Utilization in Western South Dakota: Where You Live Matters.”
