BHSU College of Business and Technology sponsors Genesis of Innovation presentation

The Black Hills State University College of Business and Technology is sponsoring a presentation by Genesis of Innovation for South Dakota Thursday, Oct. 25 from 9-11 a.m. in the David B. Miller Yellow Jacket Student Union Jacket Legacy Room.

The Genesis Group will present “South Dakota at a Crossroads: The Knowledge Economy,” which focuses on educating South Dakotans to improve the economy. Speakers will discuss how research conducted in South Dakota’s state universities can make a global impact, provide business opportunities, and transform local and regional economies.

Four South Dakota-based researchers, who examined changes and opportunities for local and regional economies and the influence of education, will present at the event. Dennis Anderson, president of Genesis of Innovation, has worked in many managerial positions and several entrepreneurship ventures in South Dakota. Dr. Stephen Hall is founder and president of AlphaGenix, Inc., in Sioux Falls. South Dakota State Board of Regents member Dr. Kathryn Johnson is a geochemist and environmental scientist who has studied issues for private companies and the government. South Dakota native Dr. Paul Gnirk worked for the Department of Energy and built a national/international science and engineering firm.

Local business owners and entrepreneurs will also participate at the event, which is free to the public. For more information, contact the BHSU College of Business and Technology at 642-6212.
