Library takes reference services on the "rove"

roving_2832_web.jpgScott Ahola, reference librarian and instructor at Black Hills State University, assists Julie Thomas, senior political science major from Spearfish, with finding information on a project in the David B. Miller Yellow Jacket Student Union. This fall, the library is implementing a new reference service for students, faculty, and staff. “Roving Reference” brings services outside the library into popular gathering spots on campus. Ahola will be visiting the Student Union, Clare and Josef Meier Hall, and Jonas Hall on Tuesday afternoons, with laptop in hand, ready to answer reference questions and demonstrate available resources, such as the library catalog and databases, on location. On Wednesday evenings, he will be visiting common rooms in the residence halls to work with students. BHSU students and personnel are encouraged to stop by these new locations and visit with Ahola about their research needs.
