BHSU’S Terry Hupp earns Patriot Award

Terry Hupp, director of instructional technology at BHSU, was presented the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Patriotic Employer award.

Terry Hupp, director of instructional technology at Black Hills State University, recently received the Patriot Award through the South Dakota Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR).

The ESGR is a Department of Defense organization that seeks to promote a culture in which American employers support and value the military service of their employees.

Hupp was presented the award in recognition of his contribution to national security and protection of liberty and freedom by supporting his employee Sgt. Julieanne Morse, BHSU photography major from Spearfish. Morse is part of the National Guard and Reserve’s 129th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment. Last year, she was deployed to Afghanistan for nine months where she teamed up with a broadcast journalist and documented the daily lives of the troops. Morse will graduate in December.
