Black Hills State University will host a public presentation on the Sanford Underground Research Facility Wednesday, April 30 at noon in the Jacket Legacy Room of the David B. Miller Yellow Jacket Student Union.
The public will be able to talk live by two-way video with physicists doing world-leading research in the underground laboratory in Lead. Located at the former Homestake Mine, Sanford Lab is advancing the understanding of the universe by providing laboratory space nearly a mile underground where sensitive physics experiments can be shielded from cosmic radiation.
Boxed lunches will be available for $8. If interested in lunch contact Jane Klug, director of student services, at Jane.Klug@BHSU.edu or 605-642-6080.
For more information on the Sanford Lab go to sanfordlab.org or contact Constance Walter, Sanford Lab communications director, at 605-722-4025 or email@example.com.
