BHSU Swarm Day parade and football game rescheduled for this weekend

Black Hills State University’s annual Swarm Days parade and homecoming football game is rescheduled for this Saturday, Oct. 19. The Line-up for the parade begins at 11:30 a.m. in the Jonas parking lot and will proceed down Jackson Boulevard and then down Main Street. Following the parade there will be a tailgate party in the Young Center parking lot at 2 p.m. The BHSU Yellow Jacket football team takes on Chadron State College at 4 p.m.

This year’s parade theme is Swarm Olympics in recognition of the 2014 Winter Olympics taking place in Sochi, Russia, in February. Community members, as well as BHSU faculty, staff and students, are welcome to take part in the parade. All entries are encouraged to display BHSU spirit and follow an Olympic Games theme.

Originally scheduled for Oct. 5, the Swarm Days festivities were cancelled due to Winter Storm Atlas that hit the Black Hills dumping more than three feet of snow in some areas of the Northern Hills.
