A QuickBooks training for beginners will be held at Black Hills State University Friday, Oct. 4 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Governor’s Electronic Classroom (GEC), located in the lower level of the E.Y. Berry Library-Learning Center, room 009.
The South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity (SD CEO) at BHSU has partnered with the CPA firm Casey Peterson and Associates, Ltd., to bring this day-long seminar to BHSU.
Leah Heidler from Casey Peterson and Associates, Ltd., will instruct the webinars. Heidler, a member of the accounting and tax team of Casey Peterson & Associates, has been with the firm for over five years. She is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor and a regular presenter for the firm’s online and face-to-face QuickBooks training classes. Heidler works with a number of small businesses in the areas of accounting software setup, consulting, troubleshooting, as well as bookkeeping, financial reporting, payroll, and sales tax.
Attendees will learn about the QuickBooks interface and will learn how to: create a new company file and chart of accounts, write checks and record deposits, reconcile bank statements and credit cards, perform payroll and sales tax and run reports. Participants will also learn the basics of accounting.
