| Dr. Judy Dittman
Black Hills State University alumna Dr. Judy Dittman was recently named interim vice president for Academic Affairs at Dakota State University.
Dittman, Class of ’73, has been with DSU since 1978 and has held a number of faculty and administrative leadership positions. She has been the dean of the College of Education since 2007. She served as secondary education coordinator and chair of the Academic Assessment Committee and was a leader in advising initiatives supported by Title III.
Dittman, who earned a bachelor of science in education from BHSU, has also served on numerous campus committees including the Faculty Advising Team in the summer of 2005 and, most recently, the committee for the First-Year Intervention Team.
From 1978-91, Dittman coached the DSU Lady Trojan’s basketball team, compiling a 176-99 record and earning a place in the DSU Athletics Hall of Fame as well as the South Dakota Intercollegiate Conference Athletic Hall of Fame. She was named SDIC Coach of the Year five times in seven years, and in 1984 she was named South Dakota Women’s College Coach of the Year by the South Dakota Sportswriters Association.
