BHSU exhibits artwork of digital media professor

Gina Gibson, BHSU assistant professor of digital media, is displaying her Mirror Mirror exhibit in Club Buzz. The images were previously displayed at the Dahl Fine Arts Center in Rapid City.
A collection of digitally manipulated photographs from Gina Gibson, Black Hills State University assistant professor of digital media, is currently on exhibit in Club Buzz located in the David B. Miller Yellow Jacket Student Union.

The “Mirror Mirror” exhibit was previously displayed at the Dahl Fine Arts Center in Rapid City.

“My recent body of work consists of digitally manipulated photographs. I captured the photographs on a recent trip to Japan. I went into this work without preconceived notions about what the end result would be,” said Gibson.

She is an internationally exhibiting artist and lecturer and has had her work displayed at the Cynthia Broan Gallery in New York City, the National Taiwan Normal University in Taipei, Taiwan, and the Siena Art Institute in Siena, Italy.

“Aesthetically, I am interested in abstraction, repetition, pattern, and color. Making this work allowed me to explore these elements more. These works were a pleasure to create and a new direction for me as an artist,” said Gibson.
