NSF: Research Experiences for Undergraduates
The Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program supports active research participation by undergraduate students in any of the areas of research funded by the National Science Foundation.

NSF: Decision, Risk and Management Sciences
The Decision, Risk and Management Sciences program supports scientific research directed at increasing the understanding and effectiveness of decision making by individuals, groups, organizations, and society.

NSF: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Talent Expansion Program (STEP)
The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Talent Expansion Program (STEP) seeks to increase the number of students (U.S. citizens or permanent residents) receiving associate or baccalaureate degrees in established or emerging fields within science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

U.S. Department of Agriculture Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program, FY08
Research may include development of new energy crops, improved methods for producing biofuels, such as ethanol and biodiesel, producing hydrogen and other fuel gases from agricultural waste and more efficiently using energy in agricultural production and in rural communities. "
