Adobe InDesign workshop to be held at University Center

A hands-on workshop, “Adobe InDesign Basics,” will be held at the University Center-Rapid City Wednesday, Jan. 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Mac lab, room 103.

The SD Center for Enterprise Opportunity (SD CEO), located on the campus of Black Hills State University has partnered with their mass communications program to bring this day-long workshop to the University Center.

Adobe InDesign is a great way for you to create engaging and professional page layouts for print
and digital media with its bilt-in creative tools and precise control over typography, according to Gina Gibson, BHSU professor of digital media and workshop instructor. During this interactive workshop participants will discover: the basics of the InDesign workspace, how to create and save documents, how to use the type tool, how to import graphics and use frames, how to format and select objects, and how to export a portable document format (PDF).

Gibson has taught graphic design at BHSU for the past five years. She is an exhibiting artist and lecturer and her work was recently seen at the Cynthia Broan Gallery in New York City and the National Taiwan Normal University in Taipei, Taiwan. Gibson received her bachelor degree in studio art at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and her MFA in studio art from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Cost of the seminar is $299 per person. The registration deadline is Jan 8. Space is limited. To register or learn more visit or call Brittni Skipper, program assistant, at 605-642-6435.
