Black Hills State University's holiday production Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Christmas Carol runs from Thursday, Nov. 29 through Saturday, Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the Woodburn Theatre on the BHSU campus.
Literature’s favorite quirky inquisitor takes on a new mystery – his own – in Black Hills State University’s holiday production Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Christmas Carol. The show runs from Thursday, Nov. 29 through Saturday, Dec. 1 at 7:30p.m. in the Woodburn Theatre on the BHSU campus.

The play, written by John Longenbaugh, takes place on Christmas Eve in 1894 when Sherlock Holmes resurfaces after being presumed dead for three years. After failed attempts by Dr. Watson to cheer Holmes into celebrating the holiday season, the unrepentant, ill-tempered detective is forced to deduce the facts and solve the most important mystery of his life - past, present and future.

Longenbaugh received the idea for Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Christmas Carol out of a desire to see a holiday production that offers all the joys of classic stories such as Dickens’oft-produced A Christmas Carol, but with a few surprises.

Ticket prices are $8 for general admission,$6 for non-BHSU students and seniors, and free for BHSU faculty, staff, andstudents. For more information, email Bert.Juhrend@BHSU.edu or call 605.642.6268.
