Black Hills State University is offering an Introduction to Digital Photography (MCOM 492) class at the University Center-Rapid City.
The one-credit course will meet on Tuesday evenings from 7-10 p.m. in room 103 of the University Center-Rapid City beginning Tuesday, Sept. 4 and running for seven weeks. The course will be taught by BHSU photography professors Jerry Rawlings and Steve Babbitt.
This course has been designed to benefit the amateur photographer who wants to develop and improve their photographic skills. Do you have a camera, but are not sure how to properly use it? Are you still desperately clinging to your film camera because you find digital technology to be intimidating? Would you like for your photography to move beyond the simple snapshot? If so, this course was designed with you in mind. In this course we will cover basic camera handling, how to obtain proper exposures, basic ink-jet printing techniques, composition, basic lighting techniques, and when and how to use a flash. Students will need to have a digital camera, preferably with manual settings. For more information about the course contact Babbitt at 605-642-6769.
Currently enrolled BHSU students can register online through Web Advisor. New students can register for the course by contacting the BHSU Admissions Office at 605-642-6343 or the University Center-Rapid City admissions representative at 605-718-4373.
