BHSU to host synthetic drugs forum

Black Hills State University will host a Synthetic Drug Forum Wednesday, April 18 at 7 p.m. in the David B. Miller Student Union Jacket Legacy Room.

The forum will feature speakers Darin Pedneau, Spearfish Police Department, and Traci Tusha, Behavior Management, counselor, addiction psychiatrist, and medical emergency care personnel.

Students Kelley Grebe, psychology major from Whitewood, and April Yenglin, psychology major from Valentine, Neb., spearheaded the event as a part of their Current Issues class with Sandy Klarenbeek, assistant professor of health education.

According to Yenglin, “We decided to do this forum on synthetic drugs because of the severity of the effects of synthetic drugs and we wanted to get more information out to the community and BHSU students, faculty, and staff. I invite anyone who is interested in knowing more about synthetic drugs to attend the forum.”

The event is free and open to the public.  For more information contact Klarenbeek at 605-642-6042.
