CSA employees honored

The Career Service Act (CSA) Advisory Council at Black Hills State University recently held the 22nd annual recognition luncheon to honor CSA employees for their years of service at BHSU. The CSA outstanding employees for the fall and spring semesters were also honored, and the annual CSA scholarship recipient was announced.

Nancy Shuck, president of the CSA Council emceed the event. "This year's luncheon honored an exemplary group of employees with 145 years of experience among them," Shuck said. BHSU President Kay Schallenkamp helped host the event and praised the employees for their hard work and dedication to the university.

Norma Perry, Dining Services, was honored for 25 years of service.

Robert Nuttbrock, Facilities Services, was honored for 20 years of service.

Sheryl Styles, University Printing Center; and Eileen Thomas, Career Center, were recognized for 15 years of service.

Becky Haak, Admissions; Janet Ladson, College of Arts and Sciences; Ellen Melaragno, Student Union; and Rhonda Wolff, College of Education, were honored for 10 years of service.

Bill Bland, Facilities Services; Shawn Covell, Dining Services; Janet Gehring, Dining Services; Kanda Guthmiller, Student Financial Services; Joyce Holzer, Extended Services; and Dawn Kennedy, Registrar’s Office, were recognized for five years of service at BHSU.

Shad Hunt, Facilities Services, was recognized as the CSA outstanding employee for the fall semester; and Elva Newman, University Mail Services, was outstanding employee for the spring semester.

Every year the CSA Council awards a scholarship to a non-traditional student, 23 years old or older, with a grade point average of at least 3.0 and 32 or more completed semester hours at BHSU. This year’s scholarship was awarded to Laura Saucerman, sophomore early childhood/special education major from Spearfish.
