Twentieth century movie posters on display at BHSU

Twentieth Century movie posters are currently on display in the Ruddell Gallery at Black Hills State University.

The show titled “Coming Soon,” is a collection of 20th Century vintage movie posters. The collection features more than 20 posters that film studios commissioned for display in and around the theatre to advertise films.

According to Dave Wilson, associate professor of visual arts and curator of the exhibit, the rare posters hold a certain amount of nostalgia since the process of illustration has been lost by advances in technology.

The Ruddell Gallery is located on the second floor of the David B. Miller Yellow Jacket Student Union and is open Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.  For more information contact Jim Knutson, professor of art, at 642-6104 or the Student Union Information Center at 642-6062.
