All Black Hills State University alumni, including former and current track and field and cross country athletes, are invited to attend the 20th Annual Stadium Sports Grill Alumni Mile Friday, Jan. 27 and Saturday, Jan. 28.
“This event allows our current student-athletes to connect with athletes from the past,” said Seth Mischke, BHSU head track and field coach. “The support from the Stadium Sports Grill helps make this event possible.”
A warm-up will take place Friday with an evening social at the Stadium Sports Grill located in downtown Spearfish (following the high school invitational track meet).
The race begins at 12:15 p.m. Saturday in the Donald E. Young Sports and Fitness Center Field House on the BHSU campus( preceding the Dave Little Invitational College Track Meet).
Following the Alumni Mile and the University Mile Races, there will activities and lunch served in the Yellow Jacket Hall of Fame Room sponsored by the Stadium Sports Grill.
A cool down will start at 4 p.m. with a social at the Stadium Sports Grill.
“Last year we had a record-breaking year for the Alumni Mile race participants,” said Scott Walkinshaw, BHSU cross country coach. “This year we hope to set a new attendance record. The support of our former cross country and track and field athletes has been tremendous and we hope they will be able to join us again this year.”
