Production of ‘Love, Sex, and the IRS’ kicks off Summer Stage season at BHSU

Summer Stage kicks off its season at Black Hills State University with the comedy Love, Sex, and the IRS, July 7, 8, and 9 at 7:30 p.m. and July 10 at 2:30 p.m. in the newly remodeled Pangburn Laboratory Theatre. Roman III, senior speech communication major from Sturgis, Denielle Bennett, sophomore communication art major from Alliance, Neb., and Andrew Rexroad, recent BHSU graduate from Spearfish, rehearse scenes from the performance.

Summer Stage kicks off the season at Black Hills State University with a production of Love, Sex and the IRS, a comedy by Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore, July 7, 8, and 9 at 7:30 p.m., and July 10 at 2:30 p.m.

With twists of fate, mistaken identities and hilarious comic lines, Love, Sex, and the IRS is a wild farce about unemployed musicians Jon and Leslie, who room together in New York City.

Cast members for Love, Sex, and the IRS include Denielle Bennett, sophomore communication art major from Alliance, Neb., as Kate Dennis; Andrew Rexroad, recent graduate from Spearfish, as Leslie Arthur; Tyler Millslagle, junior speech communication major from Rapid City, as Mr. Jansen; Jacob J. Roman III, senior speech communication major from Sturgis, as Jon Trachtman; Maxwell Downs, junior speech communication major from Rapid City, as Floyd Spinner; Ann Thompson, senior mass communication and speech communication major from Spearfish, as Vivian Trachtman; Danielle Doty, junior history major from Rapid City, as Connie; and Mike Boring, senior political science major from Pierre, as Arnold Grunion.

Upcoming performances include: Peter Pan, the musical by Piers Chater Robinson, performances will run for two weeks. Show dates are July 14, 15, 16 21, 22, and 23 at 7:30 p.m., and July 17 and 24 at 2:30 p.m. Postmortem, a murder mystery by Ken Ludwig, will wrap up the season July 28, 29, and 30 at 7:30 p.m., and July 31 at 2:30 p.m.

All performances will be in the newly remodeled Pangburn Laboratory Theatre located on the lower level of Pangburn Hall. The theatre is handicapped accessible.
