BHSU art professors present at Bellman Brown Bag Series

BHSU art professors, Jim Knutson and Dave Wilson, presented at the Bellman Brown Bag series at the Matthew’s Opera in November.

Their presentation, “Current Military Art from Afghanistan and Iraq,” coincided with Veteran’s Day.

The series was developed by the late Dr. Stewart Bellman in the 1990s. He engaged a line-up of speakers to present programs on a range of humanities topics each month. Dr. Bellman was a professor of English at Black Hills State University. His teaching career spanned 30 years.

Programs are presented on the second Wednesday of each month, from noon to 1 p.m. Designed to begin and end within the lunch hour, patrons are invited to bring their lunch, if desired, or simply enjoy an hour of learning and entertainment.

Several other BHSU professors are on the schedule for presentations. See the schedule below:

  • Dec. 8 – Spearfish Piano Duet, which includes several BHSU students and faculty members
  • Jan. 12 – Artist Dick Hicks, BHSU professor emeritus
  • Feb. 9 – Author Kent Myers, writer-in-residence and associate professor of humanities at BHSU
